Get to know me...

(These intros are always a bit awkward for me, it almost reminds me of those hundreds of times I've set up online dating profiles.)

Hey, I'm Sherilyn, content creator and the (very proud) founder of Travel Addicts UK and The Confidence Cake Academy. I guess that this part of my journey started because with every year that passed, I began to care less about what people thought of me and more about what I truly wanted. Life has for sure been a rollercoaster, but I have gratitude for the downs as well as the ups as they have guided me to the path I am on today.

I believe in freedom in every sense of the word - whether that's through travel, growth, setting boundaries, inclusivity, opportunities. I specialise in supporting women to dig deep and grow through developing a personal brand or elevating their business using social media marketing. My passion for helping women with confidence stems from my own personal experiences and I have a mission to inspire women to step out of their comfort zones to achieve the things that they desire most.

I'm also a self-confessed travel addict and have a passion for seeing and exploring as much of the world as possible.

I encourage the people in my world to use travel as a way to learn and experience different cultures - my online travel community is an incredible environment for that. I'm a big foodie which ties in heavily with my travels - I love to document my adventures in the form of writing or videos, which is where my content creation journey started. I believe that my obsession with food developed instantly from birth, and my addiction to travel stemmed from my time working on a Disney Cruise ship - seeing a different country every day can spoil a person!

Anyway, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to my world, so welcome! I make time for everyone who takes the time to connect with me, so don't be a stranger!

Where is your favourite place in the world?

This will always be one of those questions that has a fluid answer - in reality, my favourite place is secretly where I have just returned from as it's the most vivid in my mind! Amongst my top favourites are Austin Texas, Brazil, South Africa, Santorini, New Zealand and recently Croatia - however my absolute favourite place on earth (apart from Disney) is Japan! It is so different to anywhere else I've been, the people are the most polite you'll ever meet and there is so much to see and do. While I was there I went to a sumo wrestling match, climbed Mount Fuji, got soaked at the Toyko Disney Sea Parade and had a weird night at Robot Restaurant (I think that needs a blog of its own)

Are your eyes really that colour?

Yes, lol. Although I cannot explain how many times I've had people get way too close to my face to see for themselves. Personal space is not common knowledge...

How many countries have you visited?

At last count is was 41, yet I still feel like I haven't scratched the surface. Side note; I've been to 6 out of 7 continents. I'm not sure Antarctica is on the cards any time soon, so it will probably stay like that for a while...

Where do you find all of your travel tips and inspiration?

I'm a sucker for word of mouth, so I get a lot of recommendations first-hand from people to rave about places they've been. I decided that I wanted to create an online community of travel addicts who would also contribute their tips - hence the birth of my brand Travel Addicts UK. It started with just a few friends sharing travel tips, to now being the go-to place for over 4000 members for anything related to travel.

What is your favourite food?

A tricky one, but I will admit my savoury tooth is much more needy than my sweet tooth. I love to try new foods and will regularly plan trips around my taste buds - at the moment I have a huge obsession with Turkish food! Istanbul absolutely spoiled me!
